Letters
I have developed a habit of writing letters to everyone from paper editors to city officials to federal goons in protest of facism and idiocy. I try to write them thoughtfully, and I also try to offer solutions in them. It seems to me that this is a simple and mind-enriching way that people can communicate and participate in shaping the world around them. Here is a smattering of letters I have written to officials and fellows about various issues. I can't seem to find all of them, but this will give you an idea. Why don't you try writing some?
Regarding Assembly Square, Somerville
Protesting the Closing of Shows at the Berwick Research Institute
Protesting the MBTA's new policy on Buskers- thank you Homeland Security!
Protesting the MBTA's response to my initial protest
Posters for the Subway Musicians
Regarding Violence in Somerville- as I witnessed, addressed to the online progressive community
Protesting threats to shut down Jacques Cabaret
Outrage at the Library- and theirnew hobby of throwing books in the garbage
Plea for better Trasportation options- in Winter Hill, Somerville, where my mom owns a house
Questions and Observations for Professor John Searle- whom I saw interviewed in a documentary about the Free Speech and Countercultural Movements of the Sixties
Protesting the City of Cambridge's cease and desist order- directed at the Zeitgeist Gallery- we won this battle with flying colors, by the way, through establishment channels and under them, and with a healthy but fo irony from my friend Ian McKinnon, to boot.
